Former U.S. Rep. Curt Weldon Named to Safe Ports Board of Advisors

Curt Weldon (R-PA) to the company's Board of Advisors. The announcement was made by Lucy Duncan, CEO, Safe Ports; and General John M. (Jack) Keane, U.S. Army retired, and chairman, Safe Ports Board of Advisers.

Former Rep. Weldon served for 20 years in Congress, exiting in 2007 as Vice Chair of the House Armed Services Committee, as well as Vice Chair of the House Homeland Security Committee. He also served on the Energy Subcommittee of the House Science Committee.

While in Congress, Weldon led more than 60 bi-partisan delegations to over 100 nations. He has also taught and lectured around the world including the Technical University of Budapest, Cambridge University, Chinese National Defense University, Fudan University, MGMO University (Moscow), Karic University (Belgrade), and Al Fateh University (Tripoli), as well as at numerous colleges and universities throughout the U.S.

  • Lieutenant General Michael Steel, U.S. Army retired; and
  • D. Sykes Wilford, Ph.D., W. Frank Hipp Distinguished Chair in Business, The Citadel.

Weldon, who earned a B.A. in Russian Studies from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, has been awarded 5 Honorary Doctorate Degrees and is an Academician/Member of the Russian Federation Academy of Social Sciences. He has received over 100 national and international awards and commendations for his public service.
