Russia’s State Duma on Tuesday agreed to the appointment of Dmitry Medvedev as Russia’s prime minister, TASS reported. Of the 433 legislators 374 voted in favor and 56 against. There were no abstentions.

Immediately after his inauguration on Monday President Vladimir Putin proposed Medvedev’s candidature for the prime minister’s seat.
