Brandon Moore officer-involved shooting video

Brandon Moore officer-involved shooting video from Ellsworth Commons Apartments

The Attorney General’s Office has released body camera footage in the deadly police shooting of a man in a Malta apartment complex in April.

Brandon Moore, 37, was shot and killed inside Ellsworth Common Apartments on April 10. Police had responded around 9 a.m. for a report of a domestic incident. Moore had barricaded himself inside. Officers attempted to negotiate with him, but they were unsuccessful.

The 28-second video from Saratoga County Sheriff’s Deputy Lobosco shows police officers in a hallway. About 10 seconds, Moore comes out of an apartment. He can be seen pointing what appears to be a gun.

“Hands up! Hands up! Hands up!” the officers shout.

Then, there is a barrage of gunfire. There also appears to be a taser deployed.

“Stop! Stop! Stop! Stop!.” shouts an officer.

“Keep you hands out! Gun out. Gun out,” he said.

A weapon was recovered at the scene. It was later identified as a carbon dioxide-powered BB pistol, according to police.

The shooting had set off the sprinkler system of Building 2 and flooded some apartment units. Residents were displaced for a time.

Two troopers were hurt during the incident. They were treated and released from the hospital.

A witness at the scene said the victim had told her that her boyfriend. later identified as Brandon Moore, punched her in the face and proceeded to say that he was going to kill everyone in the building and himself.

13Investigates had previously reported that police had responded to the apartment for an incident involving Moore in which he was accused of punching someone.

The Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigations is handling the investigation, which is required by law in deadly police shootings.
