Fatal crashes in Nevada rise in 4-month period

NEVADA (KOLO) - The Nevada monthly fatal report is compiled by the Office of Traffic Safety and encompasses statistics for Jan. 1 through April 30, 2025.
During the reporting period, there were 128 fatal crashes in Nevada, up 7.56% from 2024. In 2024, there were 119 fatal crashes.
Here is a crash comparison by county for Jan. 1 through April 30, 2025.
- Clark had 94 fatal crashes in 2025, down 2.08% from 2024. In 2024, there were 96 fatal crashes.
- Washoe had 16 fatal crashes in 2025, up 77.78% from 2024. In 2024, it had nine fatal crashes.
- Lyon had four fatal crashes in 2025, up 33.3% from 2024. In 2024, it had three fatal crashes.
- Carson City had one fatal crash in 2025, down 50% from 2024. In 2024, it had two fatal crashes.
- Nye and Elko counties had one fatal crash each in 2025, down 66.67% from 2024. In 2024, both counties had three fatal crashes.
- Douglas had one fatal crash in 2025, the same as in 2024.
- Churchill had one fatal crash in 2025, up 100% from 2024. In 2024, there were no fatal crashes.
- Humboldt had two fatal crashes in 2025, the same as in 2024.
- White Pine had two fatal crashes in 2025, up 200% from 2024. In 2024, there were no fatal crashes.
- Pershing had three fatal crashes in 2025, up 300% from 2024. In 2024, it had no fatal crashes.
- Lander, Lincoln, Storey, and Esmeralda counties had no fatal crashes during this reporting period in 2025 and 2024.
- Mineral and Eureka had one fatal crash each in 2025, up 100% from 2024. In 2024, these counties had no fatal crashes.
